Adding Chemical Inventory

To add a new item to your chemical inventory, begin by clicking the Add Chemicals and Compounds button to launch the Manage Inventory screen.

Add Chemicals and Compounds

SafetyStratus provides a Master Chemical and Compound Catalog to search and add items to your inventory. If you are unable to find an item in the catalog, a new catalog entry can be created and the item added to the inventory.

Search Catalog and Add

Follow the steps below to search the SafetyStratus Chemical Catalog and add chemicals to your inventory from the Manage Inventory page.

  1. Search for the Chemical Owner Group.

  2. Select the Location at which the chemical will be stored.

  3. Choose the Quantity.

  4. Enter the name of the Chemical/Compound in the search field. To narrow down the search, enter additional information such as CAS number, Supplier Name etc.

  5. Click Find Your Catalog Item to search for your item.

  6. Click Add Another Chemical to search the catalog and add multiple items.

  7. Select the desired chemical from the search results.

  8. Certain item details will be auto filled. Enter remaining details as needed.

  9. Attach SDS and any other relevant files by clicking the appropriate buttons

  10. Click Submit to add the item to the inventory.

Add New Catalog Item

If your chemical search is unable to yield results from the system catalog, a Create New Catalog Item button will appear below.

After clicking the Create New Catalog Item button, the Manage Inventory page expands to enter additional details about the new inventory item. These fields must be completed to accurately add them to the inventory for future searches.

Once you have finished entering the details, select Submit to enter the item into your inventory.
