Inventory
The Inventory tab allows authorized lab personnel to view details about the permit's current activity and log inventory usage.
Confirm Receipt of an Item into Inventory
Once the package has been received and delivered to the requesting lab by Department of Radiation Safety (DRS), lab personnel need to 'Confirm' the delivery in the Inventory tab. Once confirmation has happened, the package will be in the PI's inventory and able to be disposed of in SafetyStratus."

Use and Disposal of an Inventory Item
When users are ready to indicate an inventory item was used or ready to be disposed of, they can select “Dispose” on the right side of the inventory item.

From the Inventory Disposal Form the PI can enter:
The amount of activity being disposed, and an accompanying quantity.
Which container it will be disposed of in. The system will allow for quantities to be split via percentages in the case that the isotope needs to be separated into multiple containers. The PI is also able to see the details on the current contents of each container.
Total amount of non-radioactive material. Example: 20uL of P32 added to 2L of water would be 2L water in aqueous container.
Indicate the type of non-radioactive waste material, as well as any additional comments or description.
(If Necessary) A new container can be made if the current isotope needs a new container.

Once the details have been entered, the PI can then click "Submit Log" to properly log the waste.
Zero Current Activity Inventory Items
For inventory items that have a zero current activity (see image below), those inventory items do still need to be disposed of and put into waste containers in SafetyStratus. This process gives the Department of Radiation Safety the opportunity to properly pick up and dispose of the empty stock vials.

To dispose of those inventory items, select 'Dispose' and the Inventory Disposal Form popup screen will appear (see image below). If there isn't a stock vial container that already exists, a new stock vial container will need to be created. To create a new container from the Inventory Disposal Form popup, select 'Add Container' and 'Create A New Container' section will appear.
Keep in mind, lab's are allowed to compile empty stock vials into one bag or box for easier pickup by the Department of Radiation Safety. Therefore, lab personnel can add multiple inventory items into one stock vial waste container.

On the 'Create New Container' section, select the type of waste container (i.e. Stock Vial - Short1/2 or Stock Vial - Long1/2) for creation and select 'Create'.

Once that new container has been created and visible on the Inventory Disposal Form popup, put 100% of the zero activity into the stock vial container.

Select 'Submit Log' and the inventory item will no longer be visible in the inventory list and will be in the stock vial container under the Waste tab. This process allows the Department of Radiation Safety to properly pick up and dispose of empty stock vials.
Stock Vial Disposal
Once the total activity or quantity of an inventory item has been disposed into a waste container, the inventory item disappears from the inventory list. Though the inventory item (i.e. stock vial it came in) disappeared from the inventory list, the empty stock vial needs to be picked up and disposed of by Department of Radiation Safety. To submit a pickup for the empty stock vial, a new container that contains trace or zero activity needs to be created.
Here are the steps to create an empty stock vial waste container.
Refer to the instructions on how to create a waste container with trace or zero activity 'here'.
Sub-Vial an Inventory Item
If an inventory item needs to be split into two separate containers, the user can 'Sub-Vial' the inventory. Select 'Sub-Vial' on the inventory item that should be split. A popup screen of the new vial will appear and lab personnel can add in the activity or quantity they would like removed from the original vial. Click 'Submit' and a new vial will be created in the PI's inventory.
